A BUDDHIST EXPERIENCE

Cannot give it a name
or shape, might seek
to find a context to
understand the language
being used, historical
yes, also something else,
how people emerge
from the group, complete
individual, each responding
to some higher stone
of order, unchallenged
in the search for meaning,
in reaching for the pure
relation, to interpret
life and by that
interpretation to live more deeply
in Zen, Zen of the
Real Red bone, like
Coltrane, who ist playing
the saxophone, speaking
of life and death, and
what lies in between.

The ballons, rising up
seem to take the poet
to the sky, perhaps the
same sky the little French
boy, they sailed into the
heavens, now the Inyo
Mountains, speak their
meaning, I am the sky
rock, the plunging rock,
waiting to be surrounded
by clouds, to illuminate
the angels patrolling
the earth.

The heavenly brigade
moving mysteriously
through everything,
should I speak to them?
I do, I aks them for a
life that can be lived
in heaven while being
lived on the earth,
I ask them to make this
possible, they speak of
this earthly life
as a transition to
a different experience
someplace else. People
seem to have personal
reasons for whatever
they do.
I must find my
motives.
